"After retiring in 2005 as a computer illustrator and instructor I decided to fulfill a longtime desire to travel west and learn to paint with real paint.
"The discovery of Taos, NM was a real stroke of luck! I was able to take a painting workshop and live and work in a place that is an inspiration to create and be exposed to some of the best artists in the country. My goal was and is to learn to make paintings from simple pencil sketches using basic shapes with an emphasis on bright, harmonious color.
"I paint watercolors on watercolor canvas which have been varnished to protect them. I try to paint at least 5 days a week improving my ability to simplify and work with color, keeping in
mind that knowing what to leave out of a painting is just as important as what to put in."
